CBS California The Governor's Debate | Voters Decide

California’s top gubernatorial candidates face off in the CBS California Governor’s Debate, one of the most consequential political showdowns in the state.

Coverage begins with “Countdown to the Debate” at 5 PM, followed by the live debate at 5:30 PM from the historic Bridges Auditorium. Hosted in collaboration with the Asian Pacific American Public Affairs Association, this will be the most inclusive debate to date, featuring the largest group of confirmed candidate.

Moderated by CBS Los Angeles’ Pat Harvey, CBS Sacramento’s Tony Lopez, CBS Bay Area’s Ryan Yamamoto, Julie Watts, and Sara Sadhwani, the debate focuses on the issues shaping California’s future, including public safety, housing, immigration, and the economy.

Candidates will deliver opening statements, participate in moderated discussions, and close with final remarks, offering voters key insights just days before primary ballots are mailed.
