The Nervous System: Brain Stem and Cerebellum

The brain stem connects the different parts of the central nervous system together. In particular it joins with the spinal cord at the bottom and the diencephalon at the top.

In this video, we discuss the many functions of the brain stem. First, we briefly demonstrate how it houses many of our cranial nerve tracts. Then, we locate and go over the main parts of the brain stem (brainstem): the midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata. At the end, we discuss the functions of the cerebellum, the second largest part of the brain.
