Weekend Getaway in Kenya / Canadians Trying Kenyan Food 🇨🇦🇰🇪

Even though this weekend did NOT go as planned, we had a blast! Join us in our improvised weekend getaway as we try some amazing Kenyan food, discover a hidden waterfall at the Oloolua Forest, stay in a very African style Airbnb, and eat at the Famous Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.

Finally, after being in Kenya for just over a month, we decided to have a proper Kenyan meal. We ordered everything from ugali, mbuzi, kachumbari and more!

Have you ever heard of the Oloolua Nature Trail? Well, we had never heard of it before this weekend. For a very small fee you can enjoy this amazing hidden gem in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya. Be ready to visit a cave, a bamboo forest and a beautiful waterfall. We highly recommend it!

And that is not all, we also decided to have a lunch at the FAMOUS Karen Blixen Coffee Garden which exceeded our expectations. Tables are set up all around a beautiful garden, the staff was wonderful and the food, delicious. Tracey highly recommends the Jungle Fever Sundae! We also bought an amazing painting from our new friend Morris who was selling his art right at the entrance of the Karen Cafe.
