Highways and Permafrost
Yukon government's Department of Highways & Public Works, in partnership with Northern Climate ExChange, identified and characterized permafrost areas underlying a 200 km-stretch of the Alaska Highway near Beaver Creek. HPW now has detailed site specific permafrost characteristics and proposed adaptation designs to drive its future remediation work.
