Best Programming Language To Learn? Advice for new programmers

In this video I give some quick advice on choosing the right programming language. I too often hear people espousing that certain programming languages are dead languages, or are overcomplicated, or there's some other language that people should be using instead. People shouldn't choose a language based on what someone else told them to use, and there's a quick method to figuring out "the right language to learn." I think most of the arguments to not learn a specific language aren't really worth peoples' attention and are founded more in semantics and opinion rather than hard and fast rules, and it can distract new learners who are already on a great path.

I started with OOP languages like Java and C++, and have spent my whole career jumping into languages and environments I’d never dealt with before and figuring out how to be effective as soon as possible. I suggest picking any language that you think you want to work with, and just getting started. Your skills will develop in any of them, and you can always learn more!
