Treasure Beach To Negril - Real Jamaica (Part1)

If you've ever wanted to take a trip across the pond to Jamaica be sure to check out this two part series and satisfy some of your curiosity as to what you can do while you're there. In part one we'll be hopping across the island from the Calabash Festival on Treasure Beach with a top selection of authors and live music from the likes of Protoje to the gorgeous beaches of Negril, soaking up the sights, sounds, vibrant culture and hospitality this culture is known for.
We also find some time to have a few important discussions about social issues such as the impact of skin lightening or bleaching as it is more commonly referred to. We talk to authors, chefs, man on the street and man on the beach to give you what is hopefully a fresh perspective on an island that won me over with its charm. As usual when I travel, I also take some time to look for positive ideas that could be implemented back home in Guyana to the benefit of my fellow citizens. This was surely a memorable trip with my partner and a close friend based in Jamaica. On my first visit to Jamaica over a decade ago I wished for a camera to capture the sights at Dunn's River Falls or the experience of going on a horseback ride that ended in the ocean as I explored Ocho Rios and Montego Bay with my family but fortunately I came better prepared this time albeit on another fantastic side of the island.
