How to Add MARGINS and COLUMNS in Adobe Illustrator

Gone are the days of dragging guides from your rulers onto your artboards in order to make margins! In this tutorial, I will show you the easiest way to add margins and columns to your Illustrator artboard.

Using the shape tool, you are able to create margins with only a few clicks, and with that, you can have a fully functional artboard ready to go in seconds.

This can be beneficial if you prefer working in Adobe Illustrator rather than In Design but need the tools of In Design, or if you have text-heavy assets that need to be aligned within columns.

I use this trick all the time when creating flyers because I am able to align all of the visuals perfectly without too much hassle.
