Urgent question in the Commons about Aston Villa vs Maccabi Tel Aviv game

An urgent question has been granted on the Aston Villa vs Maccabi Tel Aviv game.

This is the situation where the Israeli fans have been banned from the game by the local authority, with West Midlands Police supporting the decision.

This morning, Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said the decision was made as police cannot guarantee the Israeli fan's safety.

But she said as it is not her department she does not have all the detail.

And the police have not specified the nature of the safety concerns and who it relates to.
