It’s been 10 years since the release of Acid Rap, and yet it’s still one of the most impactful moments in Chance The Rapper's career. He put the mixtape out for free on April 30, 2013, bypassing traditional record labels and reaching fans directly. The lack of a paywall allowed way more people to have access to his music, and its success led to a new wave of independent releases in the mid 2010’s.
