Journey to the Son: A Celebration of Son House

Dick Waterman, Son House’s former manager and one of the three men who found him living in Rochester in 1964, documented his relationship with Son through photographs. Waterman will share a decade’s worth of striking images and stories.

The Institute recently partnered with the Geva Theatre Center on a celebration of the life and music of blues musician Son House. Journey to the Son included a reading of a play commissioned especially for the event, concerts, and four days of workshops and seminars. The Institute recorded most of the seminars.
