the story of how churchill sent a british officer behind enemy lines in yugoslavia to find out if a mysterious guerrilla leader called tito was even real. what he found was an army of 200,000 fighters that nobody in london knew existed. this is one of those ww2 stories that genuinely shocked me when i found it
