Fighting Fair: Here's 3 fighting fair strategies that work de escalate conflict fast. ► http://www.LoveAtFirstfight.com ◄ Get more useful de escalation techniques and learn how to resolve conflict in marriage.
First, here's why married couples fight: If you've ever thought to yourself "all we do is fight", you're normal. All healthy couples fight from time to time.
In my experience helping hundreds of couples, the underlying reason couples fight is this: Secure emotional connection has been lost and the couple has no better strategy to deal with the hurt, fear, sadness and isolation that follows.
Next, let's bust the myth that a healthy relationship or marriage is one where there is no conflict, fighting or anger.
John Gottman's research has proven the opposite to be true - that couples who do not fight end up divorced.
How come?
Couples who don't fight never resolve their relationship problems.
Because they don't know how to cope with anger in marriage
and how to fight fair in a relationship, they cant do conflict resolution in marriage and have probably never learned how to deal with anger in relationships in a constructive way.
So anger and resentment build up until one day all their repressed anger explodes and destroys the relationship.
So remember, even healthy marriages and relationships encounter anger, conflict and fighting - especially during the Power Struggle stage of relationships.
How you handle an argument with your husband or wife is what counts, not whether or not you argue.
Here are 3 of my favorite strategies for fighting fair in a relationship (or marriage).
00:50 - A rule of thumb for how to deal with anger in relationships (or marriage).
