Easy Fisherman's Pie Tutorial for beginners with Mash potatoes and cheese crust
This truly is such a wonderful fish pie recipe, once you've made your own creamy parsley sauce.... you'll never use packet or tin sauces again!!!
For the Fish Pie Filling :
300g of Cod Loin
300g of Smoked Cod
(actually you can choose your favourite fish)
200g of prawns
5 Hard boiled eggs
For the Creamy White Sauce :
1pt of Milk
60g of Butter
60g of All Purpose Flour
Peeled whole onion
Flat Leaf Parsley (optional)
Salt and white pepper to season.
Topping :
6 Medium Sized Potatoes
2 heaped table spoons of butter
2 tablespoons of Milk
2 tablespoons of butter
50g of Hard Cheese (I used Mature Cheddar) to mix with the potatoe
50g of Hard Cheese (grated) to sprinkle on the top for extra taste.
Salt and white pepper to season
Place in preheated oven for around 30 mins - or 40 minutes if pie has been chilled previously. 190c or 170c if fan assisted / 374f / Gas Mark 5
