Why Kokosing chose PreVeil to protect their CUI

Kokosing is a large construction company based in the Midwest with over 1800 employees and multiple DoD projects.

Kokosing’s C-suite realized that CMMC compliance will be a competitive advantage for the organization, providing them the ability to bid on future DoD contracts where they will handle CUI. In 2022 Kokosing hired Michael Creager as their Director of IT to help the company get there.

Challenge
Kokosing was using Microsoft O365 commercial for their email and file sharing, which cannot be used to achieve CMMC compliance because it does not meet the requirements for storing, sharing and processing CUI.

In addition, Kokosing has a large workforce so using Microsoft GCC High would have been very expensive and require significant resources to have all 1800 endpoints within the compliance boundary.

Solution
Kokosing adopted the end-to-end encrypted PreVeil Drive platform to secure CUI in an enclave. This enclave approach greatly reduced the cost and complexity of compliance because only the 200 employees handling CUI had to get a low-cost PreVeil license.
