With local travel between islands once again possible, for the first time since the COVID-19 travel shutdowns and corresponding quarantine measures, the hope is that local Hawaii officials will gain what remaining insights they need in order to roll out a safe and common-sense plan for reopening out-of-state / Trans-Pacific visitor travel to Hawaii, sooner rather than later.

Thus far, it seems that virtually everything is taking longer than it should ini Hawaii, but it is a complex issue to solve. However, local residents are growing increasingly anxious and weary after many months of economic shutdown, especially for those who are directly reliant on tourism for their livelihoods.
