Viral Video Lands Suspect in Trouble With Security Agencies

The Department of State Services has arraigned Chidiebere Justice Mark before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime.
The defendant, who was earlier arrested by the Nigerian Army, is accused of circulating false information via his X (formerly Twitter) handle regarding alleged inadequate feeding of soldiers.
Prosecutors allege that the act was intended to incite ill will and public discord, an offence punishable under Section 59 of the Criminal Code Act. The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
