Princess Kate reveals 'big secret' about her kids to smiling twins at Royal Variety Show

Princess Catherine let slip a “big secret” about her three children as she greeted a pair of nine-year-old twins at the Royal Variety Performance.

The Princess of Wales stopped to chat with sisters Emelia and Olivia Edwards, who handed her a winter-themed posy created by residents of Brinsworth House, the charity’s care home in Twickenham.

It was then Princess Catherine confessed she’d need the girls’ help keeping something quiet.

George, Charlotte and Louis, she revealed, were “very sad” to miss this year’s show — especially the headline Paddington The Musical performance.

To spare them the disappointment, she and William had reportedly told a small white lie at home, and she joked the twins would have to help her keep the “big secret".

“We’re going to have to keep it a big secret,” Catherine told the twins, bringing a finger to her lips before thanking them for the flowers.

William then joined the group, taking the programmes the girls had been given and asking what they were most excited to see.

He thanked them again for the warm welcome, noting how “smiley” they both were, with Catherine adding that their enthusiasm was “infectious".
