Byron Allen is an American comedian and television producer who was a familiar presence on TV in the early 1980s as he hosted several specials, game shows, and talk shows. However, after several years in show business, Allen realized that the real power wasn’t in front of the camera, but behind it. Thus in 1993, he started his own production company, Entertainment Studios, and since has climbed to be the biggest independent producer and distributor of TV programs in the world. Although names like Oprah Winfrey & Tyler Perry dominate the discussion around Black Hollywood power players, Allen is quietly building an astonishing successful entertainment empire.
