Radon mitigation system DIY

Radon is a radioactive gas produced during radioactive decay (primarily alpha and beta). It is found in glacial clay in US Midwest.
Radon is about 10 times heavier than air, and settles at low points of the house - basement.
Cancer is caused by inhaling Radon radioactive gas into lungs, where it decays with emission of alpha/beta particles which damage delicate lung structure.
Mitigation consists of high speed pump that transports Radon containing air from lowest point of the house.

4 pC/l means 12,672 radioactive disintegrations in one liter of air during a 24-hour period [1]. That is about 0.14 decay/s.
