Our client was pushing and pulling a broom, cleaning heavy debris and materials. The repeated motion caused a tear to his shoulder in the labrum tendon. However, before our client signed with us, he wasn't sure what was wrong, because the should pain actually caused pain in his chest, not his shoulder.

Our client was scared, because he thought he was having a heart attack. Once he hired us, we were able to get our client to a orthopedic specialist who could properly diagnose his injury. It was determined that his injury was indeed a work injury caused by pushing the heavy industrial broom and mop.

We were happy to be able to help our client get good medical treatment and a settlement for the time he was out of work.

Transcript:
You know, I'll never forget the client who was injured by pushing a heavy broom at work. He had been pushing this broom for long hours, day after day, and eventually he started to feel chest pain.

Well at first he thought he was starting to have a heart attack and he had gone to the emergency room. Fortunately, heart attack was ruled out. This young man was only 27 years old so he went back to work.

At first, he was fine but when he started pushing that broom again with those long heavy strokes he felt the chest pain come back to his chest. Well he was sent home that day because no one could figure out what had happened to him. But fortunately, he got referred to an orthopedic doctor who diagnosed him with a torn labrum. It was discovered that the torn labrum in his shoulder was causing radiating pain into his chest.

We were able to show that the labrum tear in his shoulder happened at work by the pushing of that heavy broom. We got the claim covered under Georgia worker's compensation, which paid for his surgery and was able to get the client a nice settlement out of the case.

This was a great resolution for the client because no one understood initially what was causing his chest pain. We got him to the proper specialist under the worker's compensation system and thus the case was able to be resolved.
