UKZN VLOG: Watch before doing postgrad at UKZN! alumni fee remission: no fees for MSc & PhD students

In a continent where we have so many brilliant minds, it is disheartening to see many give up their dreams of pursuing further studies due to lack of funds. Funding is one of the biggest limitations to pursuing further studies. But what if I told you you can obtain it without paying any tuition fees as a UKZN student? It is highly commendable that UKZN makes Fee Remission available to Alumni Students.

In this video I explain in detail how I obtained by Master's degree (first class) on a fee remission, and now my PhD as well as a UKZN Student. This is open to both South African and foreign nationals Studying at UKZN. The University of KwaZulu-Natal offers a fee remission to all Masters and PhD students from all over the world studying in UKZN. The key is to complete your Masters Full Time in 1 year or your PhD Full time in 3 years.

You can choose to be on Campus for the duration of your studies, But if your data collection is in your home country, then you can register, submit your research topic and communicate with your supervisor all while staying in your home country To complete the data collection. How ever please note that in some faculties they may require you to come and do a formal proposal presentation.

And if you pass your Master's First Class, you obtain an automatic scholarship for your 1st year of PhD. And because you don't pay for your PhD, this income is yours entirely. And you can also apply for multiple scholarships which are available for both nationals and internationals.

Every faculty operates slightly differently, so you will have to contact their offices and find out the steps you need to take. Some may have a supervisor for your project, while others may not and could suggest alternative topics.
