The Ardévaz Winery shares its experience with digital printing | Univerre

John Boven, engineer oenologist from the Cave Ardévaz, tells us about his experience with a new wine bottle printed in digital.

"The idea for the project came to me at the beginning of the year, during the first lockdown in March.
It was one evening when we were having a drink with a graphic designer friend and that's how we got the idea for the KAVA project.
The idea behind this project was to offer our customers a wine that makes them smile.
So we wanted to give them a positive, festive and fun message.
So in fact we spread jokes all around the bottle.
We decided to make a blend of sparkling and soft white. So we chose chardonnay and muscat.
Chardonnay is a very interesting grape variety for this type of sparkling wine
and the Muscat brings dimension and aromatic complexity which is really very interesting for this type of wine.
We chose digital printing, first of all because it's really a new technology and this technology opens up a lot of perspectives for us.
With a space for expression that is quite enormous. So it actually allows us to really tell a story and we have chosen to tell the story of the year 2020.
The three words that could sum up this wine bottle are tradition, innovation and passion."
