Original Description:
Pokemon is a series that I personally love! I grew up playing Pokemon and falling in love with the countless adventures those games gave me. However, with the most recent games, Pokemon Sword and Shield, I was severely disappointed with the game's design, quality, and series direction.
In this video essay I made for school, I talk about the User Experience (UX) of the pokemon games of old and new to showcase why I think Pokemon SwSh are the worst games in the series.
Please note that this video is not meant to be a hate comment or a verbal attack on the people who made these games. As a game developer myself, I know how difficult it can be to make a product that can please everyone, and especially how much pressure there must be when you have to make games for a franchise as big as Pokemon. This video is a simple expression of dissatisfaction I had with a game and hopefully constructive criticism to help the developers improve their work.
