"Catallena" is a Perfect Song and Here's Why

"Catallena" by Orange Caramel is a perfect song, and one of my favorites. There’s a special place in our hearts reserved for the “HAHs” that Orange Caramel would yell on-stage. Good times. It also recently turned 7 years old! Catallena is a really classic kpop meme, but it’s also just an awesome song, with a very addictive disco dance beat and a chorus inspired by the Punjabi folk/marriage song “Jutti Meri” (meaning “My Shoe(s)" -- they’re literally singing “My shoe, oye-hoi-hoi, my sandal, oye-hoi-hoi”, sampled from the original song, where the bride teases her new husband about not going home with him; it’s a super fun song). Orange Caramel deserved better, but I still love them to this day. Their concepts and videos influence kpop even now, and their music is genuinely iconic. I just love them.

This video's editing snack was recommended by chibijennie45, who suggested cinnamon toast, very dry, with butter! I used raisin bread for the toast, since cinnamon raisin bread toast was one of my favorite breakfasts during high school. I like it toasted slightly darker on one side, so it becomes quite warm and crunchy. The butter adds moisture and flavor, and the cinnamon is perfect without making me feel too evil about the sweetness. Rating 10 out of 10, favorite so far!
