Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy temple situated beside the highway at 55 KM from Bangalore in Bangalore- Mysore State Highway, since the surrounding area of temple has red stone boulders, hence this place is called "Kengallu". Therefore, the temple situated here is known as Kengal Anjaneya. The temple constructed by Hoysala in 12th Century, in the year 1969 the front portion of this temple has been renovated by Sri Kengal Hanumantayya who constructed Vidhana Soudha.
Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy emerged in red stone has been worshipped by Sage Kanva and Vyasa. Sri Anjaneya Swamy is holding conch, disk, Sougandhika Pushpa and bell in the tail. During the auspicious time of Sankrathi, sun rays will touch the feet of deity. There are idols of Srirama, Lakshamna, Seetha Mathe, Sri Lakshmivenkateshwara, Sri Lakshminarasimhaswamy. The Chariot festival will be held for 12 days during the time of Sankrathi every year and also a massive cattle fair will be there.
