Appendix USG in 30 Sec☑️ Acute → Gangrenous → Perforated 🔥

Appendix Stages on Ultrasound 📡

4 findings you must know:

*Acute appendicitis*: Non-compressible, blind-ending tube more than 6mm. Here it’s 0.9cm with wall thickening. Target sign on cross-section.

*Gangrenous appendicitis*: Diameter ↑ to 1.5cm + loss of wall stratification + intraluminal debris. Wall perfusion drops.

*Appendicolith*: Hyperechoic focus with posterior acoustic shadowing. Arrow shows it. Major risk factor for perforation.

*Perforated appendix with abscess*: Disrupted wall + complex fluid collection/abscess seen. Arrows point to abscess. Surgical emergency.

*Key point*: more than 6mm diameter + non-compressible = appendicitis. Appendicolith + abscess = think perforation.
