Boxwood The Versitile Shrub
Boxwood shrubs are used in formal settings, but are just as compatible in a casual situation. Boxwood's are one of the most versatile shrubs in the garden. In winter boxwood’s strong shapes dominate the landscape, standing like evergreen sentinels. In summer, when the garden is in full bloom with bright colors, they create a dark background providing a backdrop to highlight colors.
In this video I cover my four favorite boxwood shrubs that are boxwood blight resistant. These are the varieties covered:
Wintergreen Boxwood
Wintergreen Boxwood is named appropriately. Even during the harshest of winters, Wintergreen holds its vivid green color. Other boxwoods tend to brown out or turn bronze color but not this jewel of a boxwood.

Winter Gem Boxwood
Winter Gem Boxwood is one of the best boxwood for cooler areas of the country. Unlike other boxwoods, it will keep its vibrant green foliage all winter, even with temperatures falling to below freezing. This classic easy-to-grow, hardy evergreen shrub is perfect for hedges, pruned specimen plant, container planting, and is easily clipped into a topiary ball, pyramid, and spiral shapes.
