Standard Measurements for 3-Year Baby Girl (Used in Tutorial)
• Chest: 21 inches
• Waist: 20 inches
• Frock length: 21 inches
• Shoulder: 8 inches
• Armhole: 6 inches
• Neck depth (front): 5 inches
• Back neck depth: 2.5 inches
• Skirt length: 13 inches
• Tie belt length: 18 inches each side
• Tie belt width (after folding): 1 inch
Step-by-Step Cutting Instructions
1️⃣ Bodice Drafting (Front – Wrap Style)
• Fold fabric.
• Mark neck width 3 inches, neck depth 5 inches.
• Draw a V-shape.
• Shoulder drop 0.5 inch, shoulder width 4 inches.
• Armhole down 6 inches, curve smoothly.
• Chest marking (21/4 + 1 inch) = 6.25 inches.
• Extend the front for wrap overlap +2 inches.
• Cut two mirrored wrap panels.
2️⃣ Back Bodice Cutting
• Neck depth 2.5 inches, width 3 inches.
• Same shoulder and armhole as front.
• Chest same 6.25 inches.
• Cut on fold.
3️⃣ Skirt Cutting (Gathered Skirt)
• Skirt length 13 inches.
• Waist round for skirt: Chest × 2.5 = approx 52 inches for nice gathering.
• Cut one wide rectangle.
4️⃣ Tie Belt Cutting
• Cut two strips:
o Length 18 inches each
o Width 3 inches (will become 1 inch after folding)
Step-by-Step Stitching Instructions
1️⃣ Preparing the Wrap Bodice
• Attach lace along both wrap edges.
• Join shoulder seams (front + back).
• Attach lace along neckline for neat finishing.
2️⃣ Side Seams
• Place wrap pieces correctly overlapping.
• Pin the overlap.
• Stitch both side seams securely.
3️⃣ Stitching the Belts
• Fold belt strips lengthwise.
• Stitch and turn inside out.
• Press well.
