Fair Housing for Individuals with Disabilities: The Basics
This webinar is a shorter more basic version of our disability webinar. It is intended to give a general overview of the housing rights that people with disabilities have under state and federal laws. Basic information includes a brief explanation on the meaning of fair housing, the protections that fair housing laws offer to people with disabilities and their families, the difference between a reasonable accommodation and a reasonable modification, and how to file a charge of discrimination. It also includes a mini pop quiz at the end. This presentation was created by the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Lawyers' Committee for Better Housing and funded by a grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
