What does it feel like to be a CISO for a day?
The only thing constant in the life of a CISO is “CHANGE”. No day looks the same with new challenges flooding in - emergency meetings, issues in policies and cyber threats, to name a few. Late night finishes and early morning starts pretty much define a CISO’s never-ending responsibility. But, that’s also what keeps them driven and motivated (in their own words!).
CISOs are C-suite executives responsible for the information and data security for an organization. They lead the “cyber war games”, overseeing and manage cyber security initiatives to secure businesses while staying aligned with governance, regulatory and compliance policies.
The Certified Chief Information Security officer (CCISO) program is aimed at producing top-level information security executives who can strategically lead from the front, not just manage situations. The CCISO does not focus solely on technical knowledge but on the application of information security management principles from an executive management point of view.
The 5 domains covered in the program are:
1. Governance and Risk Management
2. Information Security Controls, Compliance, and Audit Management
3. Security Program Management and Operations
4. Information Security Core Competencies
5. Strategic Planning, Finance, Procurement, and Vendor Management
