Dramatic Kitchen Makeover | DIY All White Cabinets

DIY Kitchen Cabinet Makeover | Total Cost $170 | 10 Days!

I painted my kitchen cabinets white! I am so happy the way they turned out. They are so beautiful and it only took me 10 days and $170 to paint them. I didn't paint the insides, they looked so good just they way they are and they didn't need it. The cabinetry we have is excellent workmanship and I didn't want to ruin a good thing.

It took me 10 days and 90 hours to accomplish this huge task and I was exhausted when it was all over, but I'd do it all over again!

I used 2 coats of Zissner Bulls Eye 123 Primer and 2 coats of Behr Alkyd Satin Enamel Paint, but I recommend 3 coats.

I also painted some bathroom cabinets in my home and they are equally as beautiful. I'll be painting my laundry room cabinets and master bathroom cabinets next! I can't wait until everything is matching.

Of course since my cabinets are painted and not sprayed, they do have brush strokes in them. It's really hard to avoid them unless you use a gloss paint or have them professionally painted. We barely even notice the brush strokes unless the light shines through the window in the morning.

I didn't want to spray them and stand in the hot sun in my backyard (I painted these in mid July 2019) and my allgeries are horrible that time of year, so I decided to hand paint them and I was so happy to stay inside with the air conditioner on. The paint smell was very minimal and I was a happy camper! Haha!
