Segovia at Los Olivos - Documentary about Andrés Segovia, 1967

Filmmaker Christopher Nupen about the film:
"In Segovia at Los Olivos, the maestro talks, at his own tempo and in his own very Spanish way, about his calling and plays music by Bach, Torroba, Llobet, Tarrega, Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Granados. Near the end of his life, he said that he thought it the best thing that he had ever done for television.
When it was done, we felt that the film had achieved what it set out to do and I thanked the gods and Segovia and my colleagues for that, but still I felt that lt was not enough.There cannot be too many films with our great artists, provided they are well made and with an honest intention, and so, nine years later when Segovia was 84, we made a second and it is completely different from the first. We shot it in the Palaces of the Alhambra in Granada, which Segovia described as the Leitmotif of his life and where, as he said many times, he opened his eyes to beauty and was born for the second time - and the most important."
