Nanaimo British Columbia Canada's Dorchester Hotel, Dinghy Dock Pub and Ferry from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay in this video. We start our adventure sharing our harbour front hotel, The Best Western Dorchester Hotel. We chose to stay in Nanaimo as it 's a great central hub if you are exploring Vancouver Island and it's considerably cheaper then staying in Victoria. We then show you around Nanaimo's beautiful harbour front. After that it's time for dinner at Dinghy Dock Pub. This is a floating pub on Protection Island. Yes you need to take a short ferry ride to get there unless you have your own boat. Shawna had a gluten free dinner whilst Trevor ha a regular Canadian pub meal. We finish this video by taking a BC Ferry back to the mainland. We choose to depart from Nanaimo's Departure Bay and arrive in North Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay.
