i've attended all kinds of recording sessions with clients and friends. most are fairly monotonous affairs where recordings are played over and over again until the sound
is tweaked in a manner that sounds perfect to the artists. the 'double fantasy' sessions
were very different. it felt like a family affair with a minimum of guests or 'business'.
there was a very conscious sense of purpose. the studio was devoid of alcohol or substances. fresh sushi and tea was served. a large photo of sean was taped to the
monitor over the console. it was as if the people in the room knew that the record was
something of true significance to an audience that was anticipating it's arrival.
