What to Do in Cape Cod: A Local’s Guide to Beaches, Food & History! #travel #beach #naturelovers
We’re locals and year-round residents of Cape Cod, and we’re excited to share some of our favorite places across this beautiful region we call home. These are towns and spots we return to time and time again — the places we recommend to friends and family, and where we bring visitors when they come to experience the Cape.
Explore Cape Cod like never before in this immersive visual journey through the region’s charming towns, storied past, and stunning coastal beauty. From Buzzards Bay to Provincetown, we follow scenic roads, coastal railways, and even the skies to discover the hidden gems and iconic landmarks that make the Cape truly special.
This video showcases each town in its own light — from the colonial roots of Sandwich and the Wampanoag heritage in Mashpee, to the vibrant energy of Hyannis and the artistic soul of Provincetown. Along the way, you’ll visit local favorites like Beth’s Bakery, Fishermen’s View, and the 1856 Country Store, climb the heights of Scargo Tower in Dennis, walk the dunes of Eastham, and even take flight in vintage biplanes and helicopters for a bird’s-eye view of it all.
While this video takes you through many of our favorite Cape Cod towns, there are a few gems we didn’t have time to fully explore — but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth visiting. Every town on the Cape offers its own unique charm and experiences:
🛶 Bourne – Home to the Cape Cod Canal, perfect for scenic bike rides and sunset walks. Don’t miss the Aptucxet Trading Post Museum and the annual Bourne Scallop Fest.
🎣 Brewster – Known for its beautiful bay beaches, tidal flats, and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. It’s also home to Nickerson State Park — ideal for camping, kayaking, and trail walks.
🐚 Harwich – Offers lovely beaches, a picturesque harbor, and the Cape Cod Lavender Farm. Harwich Port has great dining and shopping, and the town hosts one of the best cranberry festivals in New England.
🌾 Truro – A quieter escape, with dramatic dune landscapes, Highland Light, and vineyard views at Truro Vineyards. It’s a favorite for those looking to unplug and reconnect with nature.Whether you're here to relive a beloved summer tradition or planning your first trip, this video is your ultimate guide to the Cape’s most captivating towns, beaches, boardwalks, museums, lighthouses, and more — wrapped in the stories and spirit of a place where history meets the sea.
