Low voter turnout is a sign that many people feel their participation does not change the status quo. In a system with many safe seats, millions of voters are left without any real influence on the outcome.
Proportional representation makes every riding competitive and gives every citizen a reason to head to the polls. When every vote is reflected in the seat count, we build a more engaged and accountable nation.
It is time to fix the foundation of our democracy.
