Middle of the Road with Sally Carr, Ken Andrew and Ian and Eric McCredie, a Scottish group, performing Sacramento, a Wonderful Town, live on the BBC Basil Brush Show in 1972. Although the group was successful in the 1970s, it was really a vocal group, born in the 60s. Most of their music was written for them in Italy although the lyrics for this song were written by an Englishman, Lally Stott, in collaboration with two Italian composers, Mario and Jose Capuano and produced by their RCA record producer, Giacomo Tosti. Sacramento was the town most visited by Lally Stott in the 70s apparently on his way to Mexico. Middle of the Road has only visited Sacramento by satellite link when they were asked to appear on Good Morning Sacramento to sing the song.
