New Aquaponic system build at Savour Soil Permaculture.

Hi all. Here's a better look at the Aquaponic system I built for Michael & his small urban farm here in SE Queensland Australia. The build went very well & was kept very simple.
Michael & family are very eager to stock it with some Jade Perch & plant the beds out. I hope to make it out there to visit in future & film some update clips on the systems progress.
Also had a ball presenting the aquaponics workshop for Savour Soils Permaculture & might look at holding more in the future.

Radial flow filter retention time calculation.
The formula I use to see how long the water is retained in the filter before moving on is:
Size of filter (in litres) / flow rate (in litres per hour) = Retention time in hours.
(Same can be done in gallons & gallons per hour)
For our system the equation looks like this..
50 / 2700 = 0.0185 of an hour or 1minute 7seconds
