Outer walls of the Cittadella, Gozo, Malta 🇲🇹

The Cittadella, located in Victoria (Rabat), Gozo, is a small fortified city that has served as the island's main defensive structure for centuries. Originally settled during the Bronze Age, much of what stands today was rebuilt by the Knights of St. John in the 16th and 17th centuries after an Ottoman attack in 1551. The site includes fortification walls, a cathedral, old prisons, grain silos, and other historic structures. It sits on a hilltop and offers panoramic views of Gozo. Today, it's a major tourist attraction, maintained as part of Malta's cultural heritage.
