Canon Large Format Printers, Canson Infinity and Cheryl Walsh - C3

This video is a celebration for the launch of Canon's new imagePROGRAF Large Format Printers, Canson Infinity fine art papers and my dedication to, and love of, printing photographs. I hope that my authentic passion for the topic is evident. This isn't a commercial but an inspirational video in my journey to encourage and educate photographers to digitally print their own artwork. For 12 years I searched for someone to teach me how to create a print at the outstanding level of craftsmanship I had seen at international print competitions. My journey was long, full of frustration, disappointment and left me feeling like a failure. Through the right connections I found that the combination of Canon Pro-4000 printer and Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag and Edition Etching Fine Art Papers were the perfect match for my artwork and my desire to print my underwater photographs at 40x60 inches. Custom ICC Profiles matching my printer to my paper choices, along with a comprehensive education from Eric Joseph of Freestyle Photographic Supplies, enabled me to fully experience my dream of creating my own fine art prints at award winning quality. This video is my thank you to the people at Canon Large Format Print, Canson Infinity, Eric Joseph, Freestyle Photographic Supplies, and my photographic community. My fellow photographers deserve the empowering and emotionally moving experience of creating their own final photograph, holding it in their hands and fully realizing the profound impact of a perfectly executed fine art print. Digital photography, like analog photography, is not about which cameras or lenses we use, or how many megapixels are on our sensors. It's certainly not about Canon vs Nikon vs Sony vs Olympus vs Leica vs Fuji - that's an insane argument. It's about creating something that is the physical manifestation of our creative vision. Photographers create a photograph and a photograph is a physical print. With the right education, printer, ink and paper we can create prints that are far superior to anything anyone else can create for us. Nothing else can set us apart from others like being in full control of our art from beginning to end - from capture to print. When we are all printing our own photographs our entire industry of photography will be lifted up to a whole new level. We deserve to be the best we can be and I truly believe that printing is the most important next step for us. My goal is to encourage and educate photographers to print their own work.
