A Day in the Life of a Real Estate Agent - What it’s REALLY Like Being a Realtor

Confessions of a real estate agent. Today, you get to see what it’s REALLY like being a real estate agent, the good, the bad & the ugly. This week one of my clients had an inspection on two near $1 million properties ($975,000 each) both 4-plexes. The inspection found unsafe levels of methamphetamine, aka meth in both units. Is this a deal breaker? For some people, yes. I’ll explain in this video. I also had some great news. Another $1 million dollar property was able to close. Because the buyer was coming from out of the country, we had difficulty getting the money in time. We actually had to ask the seller for a one week extension, which they did NOT want to do. Fortunately, we were able to pull it off… JUST in the NICK of TIME!

Helping people find the perfect home is hard work & things rarely go as planed. I’ve now been to Springville & Spanish Fork, Utah with this couple, 3 times. So far, we’ve been unable to find a property worth submitting an offer on. Will today be our lucky day? Well... I will tell you this much, due to short notice that my clients wanted to see a specific home, limited availability to see some of the properties, & my own personal commitment to coaching a girls basketball team, we had a tight schedule! The whole schedule was thrown off when my client’s baby threw up in the first house. With my schedule in shambles & the plans went out the window.
I had to do a quick video tour of the property in Eagle Mountain. To make things worse, right in the middle of everything, I had to coach my daughters 3rd & 4th Grade girls basketball team. It’s the last game of the season & we are undefeated… so far. What’s going to happen today? Will we lose or will we win & complete the season UNDEFEATED! You’ll have to watch & see. I will tell you this much, I often struggle with my Work/Life balance. Who else has this problem? I know it’s not just me, but I’m trying to be the best husband, father, real estate agent I can, but that doesn’t always go to plan.
