SWEATER TOUR I: CARDIGANS! knitting vintage, cables, wool & lace for my colourful handmade wardrobe
HANDKNITTED SWEATER TOUR – PART ONE! Here are all of the handmade cardigans that I’ve created over the years. These were knitted between 2011-2020, from a selection of vintage and modern patterns, mostly in wool yarns. These cardigans have stood the test of time, surviving multiple moves and closet purges!

A note about YARNS & PRICES….
I polled you guys on my YouTube community tab to ask if you were interested in how much my sweaters cost. 86% said yes!
I prefer to purchase natural fibres, and mainly knit using wool yarns. I’m not a yarn snob, and nor am I a cheapskate despite often knitting on a restrictive budget. You shouldn’t compare the cost of a 100% wool handknitted sweater to mass-produced acrylic & polyester sweaters from the high street.
I knit my cardigans in all sorts of yarns, from the cheapest superwash wool bought in a multipack, to expensive small-batch, custom-blended wools with traceable origins and named breeds.
I’ve indicated the amount that I paid when I bought the yarn. I haven’t adjusted for inflation, nor have I calculated exactly how much the sweaters cost me to knit. The point I’m trying to make is that you can make beautiful garments that you’ll treasure forever using yarn at a range of price-points.
Lastly, for your comparison, I typically wear size “S” and may use anything from 300g-700g of wool yarn to knit a sweater (jumper or cardigan), depending on the individual design, fit, and yarn.
