Talking Steel: CPM-Rex 45 (The Best EDC Steel)

Spyderco did a major run of knives using CPM-Rex 45 in 2020. The chemistry of the steel and most importantly, how they heat treated it makes for a nearly ideal EDC blade steel if stainless properties are not required.

In this video, I go through the chemistry and how it results in the final properties of the steel. I then translate it to real world toughness and edge retention results.
