How I Made the Autumn Fairy Leaf Cape
Just in case you’re needing some nice autumn-y fairy diy project ideas for this Hallowe’en season.
I should probably clarify, the method I explain for draping the cape is only how I started off; obviously due to some leaf scarcity problems, I ended up cutting it down quite a bit (in many ways I don’t entirely recall a year later). It does seem that I cut a bit of material away from the center front panels, in addition to chopping off the lower areas of these. I believe I also took some length off of the ends of the sleeves, as well as from the back at the sides. Thus this ‘quick and simple’ cape-draping method probably ended up being more work in the end, but hey—experimenting is fun.
The glorious fairy wings were made by Angela Jarmon of Fancy Fairy Wings and Things (http://www.fancyfairy.com/, Instagram @fancyfairyangela). The wings in the photographs are the ‘Guinevere’ style, but the ones used for demonstration in the video are the ‘Bubble Rider’ style.
UPDATE: Angela is on YouTube! She's put out a fabulous tutorial on how to make her style of wings for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4wJ42akriA
