Full Transcript: https://www.hashicorp.com/resources/balancing-centralized-and-federated-it-in-a-devops-transformation
As more large enterprises has transitioned to DevOps processes and organization, some best practices have emerged on how to balance centralized IT practices (where there is less flexibility and choice, but more speed and simplicity) and federated IT practices (where you can use what you want build optimized custom solutions, but often you're re-inventing the wheel).
HashiCorp co-founder and CTO Armon Dadgar illustrates these best practices, which inculde standardizing provisioning, security, and networking workflows around proven tooling platforms, and then allowing federation in the development and scheduling branches of software production.
Lastly, Armon will show a method for migrating your applications to DevOps processes using a "contain and drain" or "BiModal IT" strategy. Speaker: Armon Dadgar, Co-Founder & CTO HashiCorp -
