Kamalanayana - Voices of Harmony

"Kamalanayana - Voices of Harmony" is a group rendition of a Kannada daasapada in Raga Gorakh Kalyan, one of the most beautiful melodies of Hindustani classical music.
Given the artists creative ability, the Raga can lend itself to express different moods. through this raga, nature can be portrayed, subtle romance can be conveyed and sublime devotion can be submitted.

This composition - "Karava Mugive Kamalanayana" is the devotee's humble prayer through the swaras of Gorakh Kalyan. The Kannada lyrics by Shri. Govindadasaru are originally composed by Pandit Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar. Omkarnath Havaldar has re-composed, has arranged music, and has mentored the singers for this production. The song is rendered by disciples of Pandit Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar and Omkarnath Havaldar.

Dyuthi Jahagirdar was initiated to Hindustani Classical music by Pandit P.R. Manjunath and Smt. Bharathi Pratap, and has been learning from Omkarnath Havaldar for the past 6 years. She is currently studying Engineering at BNM Institute of Technology, Bangalore.

Janani V Kulkarni is a student of Hindustani Classical music for the past fifteen years, training under Omkarnath Havaldar and Pt. Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar. An Engineering graduate, she has taken up music as a full-time profession.

Meghana NK is learning Hindustani classical music from Sri Omkarnath Havaldar, and is a graduate in Electronics.

Sakshi Sathvik has been learning Hindustani Classical music for the past five years under the guidance of Omkarnath Havaldar. She is a Cambridge A level Science pupil at Deccan International School.

Sharada K G Havaldar was initiated into music by her mother Smt. Srilakshmi and father Sri K V Ganapathi Bhat. She has learnt Carnatic vocal music from Smt Kalavathi Vasudev for 6 years and later from Smt. Savitri Prabhakar in Sringeri. Now she is learning Hindustani vocal from Omkarnath Havaldar and Pt. Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar. She holds a masters degree in Computer Science and has served as a lecturer of Computer Science at Sri.J.C.B.M College, Sringeri.

Sneha Rao is a physics instructor for post graduate students. She has been learning Hindustani music for the past two years.

Snigdha Jahagirdar is learning Hindustani classical music under the guidance of Shri Omkarnath Havaldar from past 6 years. She is currently studying Engineering at BMS college of Engineering, Bangalore.

Srushti R Nadig she has been learning music for the past seven years, and Hindustani classical music from Omkarnath Havaldar for the past two years. She is currently pursing her Bachelors in Humanities.

Shruti Kamath was initiated into vocal music in the Hindustani tradition from the late Sri Madhav Bhat at the Manipal Academy School of music and fine arts. Later in the same institution she learnt Sitar under the guidance of Shri D S Chalekar, senior most deciple of late Ustad Bale Khan of Dharwad. She has performed with renowned singers, Kathak and Odissi dancers at several prestigious platforms in India and abroad. She has also played sitar under renowned music directors, in several music productions for films, ballets, and devotional albums.

Omkarnath Havaldar is one of the leading vocalists of Hindustani Classical Music in India. He began learning vocal music at an early age from his father Pandit Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar. He has further trained under Pandit Madhava Gudi and Pandit Panchakshari Swami Mattigatti, and continues to learn under Pandit Indudhar Nirody. Omkarnath has performed on many prestigious platforms and has several accolades to his credit.

Kedarnath Havaldar initially learnt vocal music from his father Pandit Dr.Nagaraj Rao Havaldar. However, he later pursued music on the Tabla, learning under Pandit Rajgopal Kallurkar and Pandit M. Nagesh. He continues his training under Pandit Samir Chatterjee. Kedar has accompanied several musicians of repute on the tabla and has innumerable performances and recordings to his credit. He also teaches percussion music at the Azim Premji Foundation.

Shreedhar Mechri is a photographer and a devotee of music. Leaving behind a corporate career in information technology, he now pursues his interests in visual media and Indian classical music. A vocalist and flautist himself, he has learnt Indian Classical Music from Smt. Jayashree Kadlabalu of Bellary, Ustad Sheikh Hannumiya of Bhalki, Pandit Madhava Gudi, and Pandit Vishwaprakash. He continues to learn vocal music from Pandit Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar.
