African Elephants take Mud Bath - Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

Orphaned African Elephants enjoy a mud bath which protects their skin from the sun. Filmed at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Kenya.

Elephant poaching is one of the worst environmental crisis in modern history. The expanding middle class of China and their demand for ivory has fueled the underground trade in recent decades. It is estimated that the underground ivory trade is worth $17B USD a year.

It is estimated that nearly 35,000 elephants are killed each year in Africa, or about 100 a day.

Thankfully, there are numerous organizations, such the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust that are working to save the elephants. EXPLORE.org's founder Charles Annenberg recently traveled to Kenya and captured this amazing footage.
