Communicating with tracheostomy patients
Communication can be hard with a new tracheostomy or laryngectomy, for staff, family members and most importantly, for the patient. Nurses, doctors, speech and language therapists and healthcare staff discuss the importance of verbal and non-verbal communication in those early days and how effective communication can engage and motive patients and staff.
