At the age of thirteen, Abdoul was imprisoned because his father's alleged political activities. While in prison Abdoul was interrogated and tortured for about a year until he was trafficked into the United States. With the help of his pro bono attorney Jessica Eales, Abdoul was able to apply for asylum and stay safely in the United States.
