This week a new Israeli yellow line was created in the Middle East — this time in Lebanon.

While the world has focused on the war in Iran, Israel’s offensive in Lebanon is creating a new reality on the ground through plans to occupy southern Lebanon, using a strategy it has already applied in Gaza: displacing residents, demolishing homes, and creating a buffer-zone.

Even as talks continue between the Israeli and Lebanese governments, Israel is establishing new outposts in southern Lebanon, which could turn into a long-term occupation.
